“Disciples! What is meant by the bodhisattva’s abode of correct and stable mind? This bodhisattva’s mind is steadfast and unwaving even when hearing these ten Dharmas. What are these ten? They are: hearing Buddha either being praised or reviled, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing Dharma either being praised or reviled, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing bodhisattva either being praised or reviled, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the practices of the bodhisattva either being praised or reviled, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the saying of sentient beings are either measurable or immeasurable, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the saying of sentient beings are either easy or difficult to help to liberate, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the saying of sentient beings are either contaminated or uncontaminated, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teachings; hearing the saying of Dharma Realm is either measurable or immeasurable, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the saying of there is either establishment or destruction of the Dharma realms, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching; hearing the saying of Dharma Realm either exists or do not exist, the mind is steadfast and unwaving in Buddhas’ teaching. Theses are the ten.” “Disciples! This bodhisattva should be encouraged to learn ten kinds of Dharmas. What are those ten? They are: All Dharmas (Nature) have no marks; all Dharmas (Nature) have no substance; all Dharmas (Nature) cannot be practiced; all Dharmas (Nature) have no existence; all Dharmas (Nature) have no true activity; all Dharmas (Nature) are empty; all Dharmas (Nature) have no selfness; all Dharmas (Nature) are like illusions; all Dharmas (Nature) are like dreams; and all Dharmas (Nature) have no differentiation. What is the reason? To extend and improve a bodhisattva’s mind to non-retrogress from the cognition of the non-arising nature of all existences(無生法忍) and spontaneously understand whatever preaching heard without depending on another’s instruction.”
